Carne Asada Marinade

Make several cups of this marinade when you decide to make it, because you will want to use it over the summer. It freezes well, so freeze it in the size portion you will use it. For those of you who like some heat and are not troubled by nightshades, add a jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced to the food processor before you add the liquid. Either way its alarmingly delicious!

Ingredients:

  • 5 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1 large handful fresh cilantro leaves and stems, chopped (great flavor in the stems)

  • 2 limes, juiced

  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground cumin seed (best to lightly toast the seeds first, then grind them)

  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

Directions:

1- Blend the garlic in your food processor.

2- Blend in the cilantro

3- Add the liquids and the spices and blend once again. Viola! Its ready to use! Freeze the extra portion right away.
